Working Effectively with Teens - Learning to Celebrate Adolescence
Sally Dine Fitch

Adult bigotry, a serious threat to youth’s well-being, persists despite decades of research by respected scientist debunking stereotypes of teens as impulsive, rebellious, hormonal and violent. In order to do effective work with teens, adults need to push through the stereotypes; address adultism; and make an important paradigm shift. During this presentation, common myths and misconceptions will be outlined as participants take steps toward learning to celebrate this crucial stage of life and in turn improve their ability to engage teens.
